Scorpion, or the 'flying machine' (after the music it often broadcast over the radio on a multitude of frequencies), was a salvaged offworld Bristol Blenheim that was used by Saber during the Second Infinitas War. It was converted into a gunship and granted a coat of offworld radar-absorbent paint, boosted turbo-supercharged engines, a reinforced frame, multimission underwing pods, and most importantly a recoilless rifle, 120kw battle pulse laser (powered off a capacitor linked to the engines) and a dual MG in the side hatch, allowing it's use as a gunship.
Scorpion became an emblem of the militia, and is widely known by both Trade Union mercenary and average citizen alike. Who flew it, though, is unknown to those that were not part of the war effort, and is a mystery that perhaps will never be solved, as the crew records have yet to be declassified - or even written, as some say.
Scorpion played a pivotal part in many battles, including the Battle for Marsilion, and though it's performance during many was unknown, many people vividly remember it lancing fire from the sky down onto enemy troop concentrations, gently evading desperate fire from the ground. Sadly, the plane eventually was hit by one lucky ground-based man portable surface to air missile during the closing hours of the battle, and was forced to ditch in the lake, where it sank to the bottom. Those that are able to dive to see the wreckage may note that certain parts of it were salvaged, most notably the engines.
The Scorpion was replaced in service a few months later with the FG-2 Bandicoot.
